Team Russia Finishes Fourth at Online Nations Cup

China and USA to play in the Superfinal.


Rounds 9-10 of the Online Nations Cup were played on Chess.com on May 9. 

In the ninth round, Team Russia made a draw with the Rest of the World. Dmitry Andreikin won against Bassem Amin, Olga Girya defeated Mariya Muzychuk, Vladislav Artemiev lost to Teimour Radjabov, while Sergey Karjakin was outplayed by Alireza Firouzja. 

At the finish, the Russians won against India 2.5-1.5. Vladislav Artemiev and Dmitry Andreikin beat Santosh Vidit and Baskaran Adhiban respectively, the game Karjakin - Harikrishna was drawn, and Olga Girya lost to Humpy Koneru. 

Having scored 17 match points, Team China confidently won the qualifying event. Its rivals in the Superfinal will be the US players, who took 13 points edging out Europe. The Russians finished the tournament on the fourth place with 8 points.
