Three Rounds of European Youth Championships Played in Bratislava

The third round of the European Youth Championships was played on August 4. Nine players including the Russians Taimaz Temirbekov, Artem Lebedev, Alexander Borsch, and Zakhar Gulenko are leading the race in the U8 open event with 3 points. Diana Preobrazhenskaya and Veronika Ryabukhina are among the leaders in the girls' tournament. 

12 players have scored 3 points in the U10 open group; the Russians Roman Simbelov, Savva Vetokhin, Nikolay Averin, Aleksandr Usov, and Lev Zverev are among them. Seven players, including Oksana Goriachkina, have a perfect score in the same age category among girls. 

The U12 open group is headed by 11 young chess players including Leonid Lystsov from Russia. Yana Zhapova, Alexandra Shvedova, Olga Karmanova, Olesia Vlasova (all from Russia), and Efsa Ecrin Buyuk (Turkey) are leading the race in the U12 girls' event. 

In the U14 open group, there eight leaders including Andrey Tsvetkov from Russia. Four players have got 3 points in the girls' tournament. The Russians Alisa Nur-Mukhametova, Mariya Yakimova, Maria Sovina, Daria Bondareva, and Viktoriia Kirchei are trailing by half a point.  

The Russians Stefan Pogosyan and Tigran Mukhutdinov are among the leaders in the U16 open category. Three participants are heading the race in the U16 girls' event. Tatyana Getman and Alexandra Afanasieva have got 2.5 points each.  

Five players including the young Russian Volodar Murzin have a perfect score in the U18 open event. Four players have scored 3 points in the girls' tournament with Anna Afonasieva among them.
