Vladimir Putin Awarded Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbut Al Nahyan with Order of Friendship
For popularising chess in Russia and abroad.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Shakhbut Al Nahyan, President of the Asian Chess Federation, with the Order of Friendship for his great contribution to popularisation of chess in Russia and abroad.
On 28 February, 2023, the Continental Assembly of the Asian Chess Federation, which took place in Abu Dhabi as part of the Asian Chess Summit, ratified the transfer of the Chess Federation of Russia to the ACF from the European Chess Union.
