Vladislav Artemiev Qualifies for Goldmoney Asian Rapid Final
He will play against Levon Aronian.
The semi-final of the Goldmoney Asian Rapid, the 7th event on the $1.6 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour, was completed on Chess24.com.
Vladislav Artemiev defeated Ding Liren in the second match 2.5-1.5 to level the score after the loss in the first one. The Russian grandmaster also bested his opponent in blitz, having won 1.5-0.5.
Artemiev's rival in the final will be Levon Aronian, who eliminated Magnus Carlsen. Like Artemiev, the Armenian player won on demand in the second encounter, and the struggle continued in blitz. There Aronian won both games and made it to the final.
The final match will start on the 3rd of July.
