Western Asia Youth Championships Finish in Kyrgyzstan

Russian players won 11 medals in three events.


The Western Asia Youth Championships among boys and girls under 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 years old are completed in Korumdu, Kyrgyzstan. The participants completed in classical, rapid chess, and blitz. 

Russian won three medals in the Western Asian Youth Championships. The girls' tournaments under 6 and 8 years old were merged. Nina Guznischeva is third in the U6 category. Polina Smirnova became the champion among girls under 12 years old. Oksana Goriachkina won bronze in the U14 girls' tournament. 

In Rapid, Bogdan Kalinin took second in the U6 open group. Polina Smirnova is third in the girls' U12 category. Oksana Goriachkina became the Western Asia rapid champion among girls under 14 years old.  Alexander Khripachenko won silver in the open U16 category. 

In Blitz, Mikhail Mukhin took second place in the open tournament under 10 years old. Oksana Smirnova won silver in the girls' U10 group. Polina Smirnova is third in the U12 girls' event. Alexander Khripachenko became the Western Asia rapid champion under 16 years old.
