World Chess Legends Tournament Finished in Catalonia

The World Chess Legends Tournament was held in Platja d'Aro as part of the 5th International Chess Festival. The 12th World Champion Anatoly Karpov (Russia), the strongest grandmasters of their time Zoltan Ribli (Hungary), Ljubomir Ljubojevic (Serbia), and Jan Timman (Netherlands) took part in the event. 

The participants of the World Chess Legends Tournament played 6 rapid and 6 blitz rounds. 

Final standings: 

1-2. Anatoly Karpov, Zoltan Ribli - 6.5 points out of 12
3. Jan Timman - 6
4. Ljubomir Ljubojevic - 5.

According to the Regulations, Anatoly Karpov and Zoltan Ribli determined the winner on tie-break. The Hungarian grandmaster defeated his opponent 2-0 to win the tournament.
