Elisabeth Paehtz Wins European - ACP Women Rapid Championship

The European - ACP Women Rapid Championship finished in Tbilisi. 78 chess players from 16 countries participated in the event. 

Elisabeth Paehtz (Germany), Anastasia Bodnaruk, Alexandra Kosteniuk (both from Russia), Anna Muzychuk, and Anna Ushenina (both from Ukraine) scored 8 points out of 11 to share the 1st place. 

Paehtz edged out other competitors on tie-break to become the rapid champion of the Old World. Thanks to her superior tie-break, Bodnaruk became second, while Muzychuk took the bronze medal.

On April 1, the European - ACP Women Blitz Championship will be held in the capital of Georgia. The starting list is headed by Alexandra Kosteniuk (2551, Russia), Anna Muzychuk (2545, Ukraine), Valentina Gunina (2533, Russia), Antoaneta Stefanova (2507, FIDE) and many other well-known chess players.  

The event is a 13-round Swiss event.
