Pavel Maletin Wins in Iran
Maksim Chigaev is second in a big open tournament.
Pavel Maletin, grandmaster from Novosibirsk, won a big open tournament in Iran, scoring 7.5 points in 9 games. Another Russian representative, Maksim Chigaev, also had 7.5 points, but his tie-break was worse. A large group of grandmasters was half a point short, including Dmitry Bocharov (Russia), and Sergey Tiviakov (Netherlands). Gadir Guseinov (Azerbaijan) got the third place on tie-break.
