Vladimir Kramnik Shared Second Place in Stavanger

On June 16, the ultimate ninth round games of the Altibox Norway Chess Tournament were played in Stavanger. Vladimir Kramnik won against Anish Girl, Fabiano Caruana upset Hikaru Nakamura. The games Karjakin - Vachier-Lagrave, Anand - Carlsen, and So - Aronian ended in a draw.

Final standings:

1. Levon Aronian - 6 
2. Hikaru Nakamura, Vladimir Kramnik - 5
4-6. Fabiano Caruana, Wesley So, Anish Giri - 4.5
7-9. Viaswanathan Anand, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Magnus Carlsen - 4
10. Sergey Karjakin - 3.5.

Following the tournament’s results, Vladimir Kramnik has hold the second place of the world rating list and is contending to take part in the Candidates Tournament 2018. Our congratulations to the former World Champion on his successful performance!
