Wesley So Wins Rapid in Leuven

Blitz tournament is ahead.

On June 30, the ultimate three rounds were played at the Grand Chess Tour stage in Leuven.

The tournament was won by Wesley So, who scored 14 points out of 18 (the scoring formula for the first half is 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw.).  Maxim Vachier-Lagrave is 2 points behind. Magnus Carlsen is third with 11 points. Vladimir Kramnik and Ian Nepomniachtchi both scored 9 points.  

Standings after rapid tournament:

1. Wesley So - 14 points out of 18, 2. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave - 12, 3. Magnus Carlsen - 11, 4. Anish Giri - 10, 5-7. Levon Aronian, Vladimir Kramnik, Ian Nepomniactchi - 9, 8. Viswanathan Anand - 8, 9. Vassily Ivanchuk - 7, 10. Baadur Jobava - 1.

On July 1-2, the participants will play a double round-robin blitz tournament.
